About Me

My name is Julie Pose and I am a Person-Centred Psychotherapist an Integrative Holistic Play Therapist and a Drawing & Talking Art Therapist. I am also a tutor in Undergraduate Counselling Skills at Aberdeen University.

I volunteer as a Play Therapist for North East schoolchildren aged between 5 and 11 years old who are referred through the Grampian Regional Equality Council (GREC). Each session lasts for 40 minutes and normally takes place in the child’s school setting.

I have volunteered as a Counsellor with Cairns Counselling for 3 years and have seen clients, aged 18 years and over, within the Cairns counselling practice in Aberdeen city centre.

I am fully PVG checked for working with adults and children and am covered with full public liability insurance.  I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and adhere fully to it’s Code of Ethics.

I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Counselling from The University of Aberdeen and am studying towards a Post Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Play. I also have a BA Honours Degree in Law and Management from The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

I am fully insured, am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP No. 163507) and adhere fully to it’s Ethical Code.

I am originally from Aberdeen and have worked and studied in The Netherlands, Singapore and, most recently, France.  I speak fluent French and love to play the piano.
